Background

Doctors and other health-related workers are expected to keep updating their knowledge and skills in managing the patients, due to the rapid development in health and medical sciences and technology. In the National Health Insurance/Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN) era, the increased health awareness of the community, along with the easy access to health facilities, leads to higher number of patients to be managed in a single health service unit. Eventually, the health service providers have less and less time to read new information or learn new skills, either in disease diagnostics, therapeutics, and prevention. Health service might not be based on strong and up-to-date evidence, which might end in a decrease in patient management quality as well as an increase in morbidity and mortality.
This workshop and seminar are held in the expectation that they can contribute in providing the most update evidence for health providers in managing patients in various health areas. Pharmacology as a preclinic basic science provides an important basis in understanding drug treatment administration to patients. Pharmacology-related evidence can be applied in various clinical sciences, including hematology, oncology, neurology, otorhinolaryngology, and infectious diseases. Evidence-based medicine may also be applied in choosing clinically efficacious and economically feasible drugs for the National Formulary used for daily practice in health service facilities in the JKN era.
